Every child deserves to be a strong reader.

These evidence-based strategies are yours, free. Small daily habits change everything.

Ages 2–4

Talk More, Read More

Narrate your day, name what you see, and read aloud daily. Oral language is the strongest long-term predictor of reading success. Even a cereal box works.

Ages 4–6

Sound Play Games

"What rhymes with cat?" Clap the syllables in words. Change sounds: "Say dog. Now change /d/ to /l/." Five minutes a day builds the phonemic awareness every reader needs.

Ages 5–7

Follow the Print

Run your finger under words as you read. Point to words on signs, menus, and food packaging. Children need to see that print moves left to right and carries meaning.

Ages 6–9 · Premium
